Cuts for India's most-driven cars
Every cut is ₹299, whether your screen is 7 inches or 10.25.

One of these gets negotiated down at resale.
Every mark on a car touchscreen is permanent. There is no polish, no buff, no touch-up — only a head-unit replacement. A protector moves that wear onto a layer that costs ₹299 and takes two minutes to replace.

Built to disappear, engineered to take the hit
Four of the eight properties that separate this from a trimmed universal sheet.

Not the film that shatters in your hands
Cheap protectors crack while you are still trying to fit them. Ours flexes — you can bend it back on itself and it returns flat.

Touch response you cannot feel a difference through
Taps, swipes, pinch-zoom, split-screen, wired and wireless CarPlay — all exactly as before.

Cuts the reflection that makes maps unreadable
The surface diffuses the hard reflections that bounce off a glossy dashboard panel at midday.

Water and oil bead off
A hydrophobic and oleophobic top coat, so spills, sweat and skin oil sit on the surface instead of soaking into it.
Four layers. 0.26 mm total.
A screen protector is not one thing — it is a stack, and each layer is doing a different job. Most listings never show you this, which is why most buyers think they are all the same.

A model-cut guard should not cost ₹1,300.
The same class of laser-cut protector sells for four to ten times more elsewhere. Not because it is a different product — because those brands fund their own checkout, warehouse, couriers and ad budget, and that lands on the price tag.

A phone protector on a dashboard is a compromise
Six decisions that separate a protector engineered for a car cabin from one adapted to it.

Cut per car
105 separate outlines. A "10.25-inch" for a Creta is not the same shape as one for a Nexon.
0.26 mm thin
Thin enough to disappear, with 2.5D rounded edges that sit flush against the bezel.
99.9% clarity
No haze over reversing-camera footage, no patterning across map tiles, no dulling at night.
Oleophobic coat
Skin oil wipes off in one pass instead of smearing around the volume and home controls.
Built for 60°C
Indian cabin temperatures without the adhesive creeping, yellowing or lifting at the edges.
6-piece kit
Wet wipe, dry wipe, dust sticker, squeegee and a printed guide. Nothing else to buy.
Four steps. About two minutes. No fitter.
If you have ever put a protector on a phone, this is easier — the surface is bigger, flatter, and there is no curved edge to fight.
Clean
Park in shade and let the dashboard cool. Wipe the display with the wet wipe, working outwards from the centre so you push dirt off the panel rather than around it.
Cool glass first — adhesive misbehaves on a hot dash.
Dry & de-dust
Buff dry with the dry wipe, then lift every remaining speck with the dust sticker. Hold the screen at an angle to the light — that is the only way to see the fine dust that ruins an install.
Angle the screen to a light source. Dust hides head-on.
Align
Peel about a third of the backing. Rest the protector against the top edge of the display and line up the corners before any adhesive touches the glass. Take your time here — this is the step that decides the result.
Align dry first. You get one clean landing.
Lay & squeegee
Lower it slowly while pulling the rest of the backing away. Sweep the squeegee from the centre outwards to push air to the edges. Small bubbles clear themselves within a day as the adhesive settles.
Trapped a bubble? A dust speck is under it — lift that corner.
Why Protecterr isn't tempered glass
Tempered glass is right for a phone. On a curved, vibrating, sun-baked dashboard the trade-offs invert — which is why every Protecterr cut is 9H hard-coated PET that bends instead of chipping. Here is the honest comparison, including where glass wins.
| What actually matters | Protecterr PETModel-specific | Tempered glassPhone-style | Universal sheetTrim to fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fits a curved displayMost modern infotainment panels have some curvature or a raised bezel lip. | Flexes to follow the panel | Rigid — lifts at the edges | Depends where you cut |
| Survives cabin heatA parked car in an Indian summer regularly passes 60°C on the dashboard. | Stable, no delamination | Adhesive can creep and bubble | Varies by supplier |
| Handles road vibrationConstant micro-vibration is the enemy of anything rigid stuck to a dashboard. | Absorbs it | Corner chips are common | Cut edges fray first |
| Scratch resistanceKeys, rings, watch buckles and dusty cloths — the real-world threats. | 9H hard-coat surface | Genuinely excellent here | Usually softer film |
| Edge-to-edge coverageA protector that stops short leaves the most-touched corners exposed. | Laser-cut per model | Only if a model-specific cut exists | You trim it by hand |
| Blocks buttons or sensorsPhysical volume knobs, hazard switches and light sensors sit close to the panel. | Cut-outs mapped to the car | Thickness can foul a bezel | Frequently overlaps |
| Touch sensitivityAnything that dulls swipe or pinch-zoom will annoy you every single drive. | Thin enough to be invisible | Also fine | Also fine |
| Impact protectionWhere glass genuinely wins — but car screens rarely take impacts. | Scratch-first protection | Better against a hard knock | Minimal |
| Clean removalYou will want it off eventually — before resale, or to refit a fresh one. | Peels away residue-free | Can shatter on removal | Adhesive residue is common |
Straight answer: if you drop things on your dashboard, glass absorbs a hard knock better. For everything a car screen actually faces day to day — keys, rings, dust, heat and vibration — a model-cut PET film is the more sensible protector.

Car screen protectors in India: what actually matters
Ten years ago the infotainment screen was an optional extra on a top-spec variant. Today it is the control surface for climate, drive modes, reversing cameras, phone mirroring and — on an increasing number of cars — the sunroof and the seat heaters. It is the most frequently touched surface in the cabin and, unlike every other interior surface, it cannot be repaired once it is marked.
That is the specific gap Protecterr exists to fill. Not a universal sheet you trim with scissors, and not a phone protector stretched to a new use case, but a cut engineered per car — 105 of them, across 10 manufacturers.
Screen size varies by variant, not by model
This is the single most common ordering mistake in the category. A Kia Seltos, Sonet or Carens can have a 10.25-inch display or an 8-inch one depending on trim. A Maruti Suzuki Baleno ships with either a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ unit or a smaller screen on lower variants — and the same split runs through the Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara and Jimny. Hyundai does it across the Creta, Verna and i20. Buying by nameplate alone gets you the wrong cut roughly as often as it gets you the right one.
Measure diagonally across the black glass, corner to corner, ignoring the plastic surround. Then use the fitment finder and pick the measurement rather than the badge. Every model we cut more than one size for is listed as separate products for exactly this reason.
What it costs, and why
Protecterr protectors are ₹299. The same class of model-cut protector sells for ₹699–₹1,199 from a mid-market direct-to-consumer brand, and up to ₹3,950 at the premium end. The difference is cost structure, not quality: those brands are funding their own checkout, warehouse, courier contracts and customer acquisition, and that lands on the price tag. The full explanation is on our about page.
Why film beats glass on a dashboard
Tempered glass earned its reputation on phones, where the panel is flat, the device lives in a pocket at body temperature, and the realistic failure mode is a drop onto concrete. A dashboard is a different environment in all three respects: panels are often curved, cabin temperatures swing from air-conditioned to over 60°C on a parked afternoon, and the realistic failure mode is abrasion rather than impact. Rigid glass in that environment lifts at the edges, traps dust, and chips at the corners under vibration. We cover the full trade-off, including where glass genuinely wins, on the PET vs tempered glass page.
Fitting one yourself
The install is easier than a phone protector — the surface is larger and flatter, and there is no curved edge to fight. Park in shade, let the dashboard cool, clean with the supplied wet wipe, dry with the dry wipe, lift residual dust with the dust sticker, align dry against the top edge, then lower and squeegee outwards. Total time is about two minutes. Step-by-step photos and the common mistakes are on the installation guide.
